The Challenge

Consultmed has discovered the opportunity to improve automation and digitalisation in the medical industry through solving a problem in inefficient e-referrals. Dr. Vikram, the founder of Consultmed, has been engaging with Kiratech, as a tech partner, to replace the current methods being used that are predominantly paper-based and time-consuming with a digital solution.

The Solution

To improve the referrals processes and automation, Kiratech developed a secure cloud-based web interface which allows GPs to enter patient information then forward on the record to electronic management records used by specialists & hospitals with accountability and alerting

Digital solutions include:

Secure data encryption and paper-less message delivery between healthcare providers

Patients can easily self-refer and have access to their referrals via the platform

Healthcare information is encrypted and stored securely in local Australian Government endorsed data centres

Our Process

The development of Consultmed is following the Incremental Software Product Development Cycle, utilising a SCRUM framework with each series of iterations termed a ‘Sprint’ to ensure for discipline communication between Kiratech and Consultmed team to achieve the project completion on time and on budget. Apart from the product development focus from the technical angle, we provided commercialisation advice and assisted Consultmed in capital generation through R&D Tax Incentives application which allowed Consultmed to generate the capital needed and conduct Pilot Testing with hospitals in Sydney.

Dr. Vikram is a paediatric doctor, passionate about innovation in healthcare and adopting digital solutions to affect sustainable, patient-centred care. He has led several transformational and quality improvement programmes across acute and community healthcare settings in Australia and the United Kingdom. His background in clinical medicine, tertiary education and management has led him to a career in healthcare consulting and entrepreneurship.
